<B>CoroCAM 8 with Daylight Corona, overlaid on LW Infrared or Color Visible </B>

The CoroCAM 8 is available handheld, for UAV mount, or for Vehicle (VMI) or stationary monitor mount and for group applications. The fixed mounting can be to a vehicle mounting kit or a wall bracket in a high voltage R&D test lab or power generation area. Handheld is useful for ground patrol, helo handheld scans, or inspection of high voltage areas. CoroCAM 8 UAV is lightweight, rugged, and can be flown on an "Enterprise" class UAV for inspection of high voltage areas. Wall or Pole mounting of the VMI model is useful in condition monitoring of critical assets, i.e. substations, converter rooms, etc. The CoroCAM 8 VMI comprises the VMI Pan & Tilt Unit and the payload module which in this case is fitted with a CoroCAM 8 type module. The unit shown has the standard UV & Visible channel and two radiometric FLIR thermal IR cameras (1x with a Narrow FOV lens & 1x with a Wide FOV lense). Using a combination of cameras & sensors makes it possible to do various types of inspections at the same time, saving time and effort. In April 2014 UViRCO Technologies introduced the CoroCAM 8 at the IEEE-PES Conference in Chicago. The CoroCAM 8 is fully radiometric, high-resolution visible, high sensitivity ultraviolet for daylight corona inspection and a weight of 2.5kg hand-held, helo, or UAV/UAS. In 2007 CSIR introduced the MultiCAM, the worlds only multi-spectral handheld camera capable of imaging daylight corona and overlaying it onto infrared or with the push of one button overlaying the daylight corona image onto a color visible image. This lightweight camera (at 7 lbs with 2 hour battery) weighs less and does more then any competitor camera.

A daylight corona image of a non-ceramic insulator (NCI) showing the corona due to lack of a corona ring on the insulator. This corona will destroy the NCI insulator due to ozone and nitric acid attacking and depositing in the aged insulator surface resulting in arcing and eventually mechanical / structural failure of the NCI. The NCI expected lifespan is 80 years, under these conditions maybe 10 years to failure. Also note the "see thru" corona indication that allows seeing the corona source.

The MultiCAM has been toured, demonstrated, and was exhibited at shows across North America since July of 2007, getting user feedback and exhibiting world-class technology. The objective in developing this type of camera combination is to save time and get the complete picture/understanding of the problem in one viewing and record the test results with GPS coordinates on the image. The intuitive on-screen menu is selected and adjusted by a jostick combo.

When the competitors can't offer "time saving technology" and can't give you the complete understanding of the corona or arcing problem, they must not understand what you really need. Competitors offering excuses that "what if one camera fails" may have a high failure rate experience for there product?
